Position Summary

The Director of Corporate Operations is responsible for building, managing, and continuously improving the internal operating infrastructure required to scale Avrex Aerospace.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this position serves as a central operational integrator across the organization, ensuring Engineering, Flight Operations, Finance, Business Development, Program Management, and corporate functions remain aligned and capable of executing company priorities.

The Director of Corporate Operations will establish the processes, systems, governance, accountability, and operating discipline necessary to support Avrex Aerospace as it transitions from development into a scalable aerospace organization.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Operations

  • Oversee and integrate day-to-day corporate operational functions.

  • Coordinate administrative operations, facilities, procurement, internal systems, and cross-department processes.

  • Drive alignment between Engineering, Flight Operations, Finance, Business Development, and Program Management.

  • Identify and eliminate organizational bottlenecks and process gaps.

  • Establish clear ownership and accountability for cross-functional initiatives.

  • Drive execution against executive priorities.

Executive Operating Cadence

  • Establish and manage the Company's executive operating rhythm.

  • Coordinate leadership meetings and maintain agenda and action-item discipline.

  • Support quarterly and annual strategic planning.

  • Track company and departmental objectives and key results.

  • Maintain executive decision and action-tracking processes.

  • Support preparation and follow-through for Board of Directors meetings.

Process Development & Scalability

  • Design and implement standardized operating processes.

  • Establish documented workflows and internal procedures.

  • Develop RACI matrices and decision authorities.

  • Establish approval workflows and escalation processes.

  • Implement cross-functional program and initiative tracking.

  • Build operational processes capable of scaling with company growth.

Compliance & Risk

  • Coordinate corporate compliance activities with Legal, Finance, Engineering, and Program leadership.

  • Track contract execution requirements and deliverables.

  • Support government-contract flow-down compliance.

  • Maintain corporate policy documentation.

  • Support data-security and information-handling processes.

  • Coordinate export-control administrative tracking where applicable.

  • Maintain corporate risk registers and mitigation tracking.

Financial & Resource Discipline

  • Support executive leadership in maintaining budget discipline.

  • Coordinate departmental resource-allocation reviews.

  • Monitor operational spending and company burn.

  • Support vendor selection and contract oversight.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs and improve efficiency.

  • Provide operational data to support executive resource-allocation decisions.

Corporate Systems & Infrastructure

  • Oversee implementation and effective use of corporate operating systems.

  • Coordinate ERP and accounting-system requirements with Finance.

  • Maintain program and project tracking platforms.

  • Develop executive and operational dashboards.

  • Oversee internal communication and collaboration systems.

  • Establish effective document-control and records-management processes.

  • Ensure systems and processes provide leadership with timely, accurate operational visibility.

Organizational Development

  • Work with executive leadership to define and evolve organizational structure.

  • Clarify departmental roles, responsibilities, and decision authorities.

  • Establish accountability across functions.

  • Support leadership development and organizational growth.

  • Reinforce company performance standards and operating expectations.

  • Help build a disciplined, execution-focused company culture.

Facilities & Corporate Infrastructure

  • Coordinate facility requirements as the company expands.

  • Support new office, engineering, manufacturing, and operational facility development.

  • Coordinate vendors, infrastructure requirements, and facility support.

  • Ensure corporate infrastructure scales with staffing, engineering, production, and flight-operation requirements.

Strategic Initiatives

  • Lead or coordinate high-priority initiatives assigned by the COO.

  • Support corporate restructuring and organizational expansion.

  • Coordinate new facility stand-up.

  • Support domestic and international operational expansion.

  • Coordinate integration of strategic partnerships.

  • Support merger, acquisition, and post-acquisition integration activities when required.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in corporate operations, business operations, program operations, or organizational leadership.

  • Experience coordinating multiple departments within a rapidly growing organization.

  • Strong project and program-management capabilities.

  • Experience establishing processes, operating rhythms, and accountability systems.

  • Ability to translate executive priorities into executable organizational actions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.

  • Strong judgment, discretion, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or another highly technical industry.

  • Experience supporting government-contracting organizations.

  • Familiarity with ERP, project-management, document-control, and executive-dashboard systems.

  • Experience supporting rapid organizational growth or transition from development into production.

  • Familiarity with export controls, government-contract compliance, and defense-industry operating requirements.

  • Experience supporting facility expansion, organizational restructuring, or M&A integration.
